Hosting Requirements
To ensure high availability and reliability, nPerf servers must be housed in data centers. Recommended configurations include:
- Hardware:
- 2-core CPU @ 1.6 GHz+ (2.5 GHz+ for 10 Gb/s connections)
- 4 GB RAM
- 20 GB HDD
- 1 Gb/s (or more) symmetric connection
- Compatible with VMWare, Xen, KVM, etc.
- 64-bit Linux OS (Debian 11/12 or Ubuntu 20.04/22.04 preferred)
- Software:
Debian 11/12 or Ubuntu 20.04/22.04 dist with minimal install (without GUI stuff) and SSH server installed.
Installation Process
nPerf offers two installation options:
- Managed Server:
nPerf takes care of software installation, server security, maintenance, and updates. The partner provides a server with Debian/Ubuntu and root access.
- Unmanaged Server:
Detailed installation guidelines are available for those with strong Linux system knowledge.
